TIKIMENTARY: a film by Duda Leite - FREE
What is the relation between the Moais from Easter Island, old Elvis movies, Hawaii, Carmen Miranda and a group of exotic tattooed people from the South of Florida? All of them are part of the Tiki movement. But what exactly is Tiki? And who are the "Tikiphiles"?
Every year they get together in Fort Lauderdale, for the HUKILAU, where they enjoy Exotica music, watch retro Fashion shows, share Polynesian recipes, exchange experiences and have some mean tropical drinks. TIKIMENTARY is their story, told by themselves. With intoxicating music by The Disasternauts, The Intoxicators!, Robert Drasnin and Les Baxter. This 2009 production directed by Brazilian Duda Leite will be shown twice at Tiki Oasis!
